Privacy
Plain-English summary
This is a static personal site. Analytics is optional and loads only after you click Accept on the privacy banner. We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with advertisers. The only personal information we'd collect is what you voluntarily give us — your email if you sign up for the newsletter, or details if you reach out via a contact form. That's it.
What we collect
Newsletter signups
If you subscribe to our newsletter, you do so through our Substack publication (mykazzy.substack.com) or by emailing us directly. Substack processes your email under its own privacy policy; we use your address only to send periodic updates (about one note a month) about new films, festival premieres, and project news. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email or by emailing [email protected].
Contact and inquiry forms
The hire, press, and screener-request links on this site all use your local email client (mailto). Information you send arrives at The Rewired Collective directly. We use it only to respond to you about the inquiry.
Server logs
The web host this site runs on may keep standard server access logs (IP address, user agent, timestamp, requested URL) for security, abuse prevention, and basic operations. We don't analyze these logs for any other purpose.
Third-party services we link to
Google Fonts
This site loads fonts (Jost and DM Sans) from Google Fonts via fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. When your browser requests a font file from Google's servers, Google may log your IP address, browser user agent, referrer URL, and timestamp as standard CDN traffic. This constitutes a transfer of technical data to Google LLC (United States). We chose Google Fonts because it is the most widely accessible and performance-optimized source for these typefaces. If you prefer to prevent this data transfer, you can block fonts.googleapis.com in your browser or use a browser extension that self-hosts web fonts. A future version of the site may self-host these fonts — see our GitHub for status.
Google Analytics
If configured and accepted, this site may load Google Analytics to understand aggregate page traffic and improve the site. Analytics is consent-gated and is not loaded for visitors who reject the banner. We do not use Google Analytics for advertising personalization.
Clearbit Logo API
Logos on the Quotes and Press pages load from Clearbit's free logo API (logo.clearbit.com). Your browser makes a direct request to Clearbit's servers when loading these images, which may log your IP and user agent. No personal data is sent.
PayPal
Donations are processed by PayPal on behalf of From The Heart Productions, our 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor. PayPal's own privacy policy and processing-fee structure apply. We do not receive or retain any financial transaction data from PayPal.
External links
Links to third-party sites (IMDb, LinkedIn, Forbes, YouTube, livingundonemovie.com, etc.) are governed by those sites' own privacy policies. We are not responsible for their data practices.
Your rights
Whether or not you live somewhere with a strict privacy law, we operate as if you do:
- Access: ask what we have about you and we'll tell you
- Correction: ask us to fix anything inaccurate
- Deletion: ask us to remove your information from our records
- Portability: ask for a copy of your data in a usable format
- Objection: ask us to stop using your information for any reason
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We respond within 30 days.
Donor privacy
The Rewired Collective adheres to the AFP (Association of Fundraising Professionals) Donor Bill of Rights and the following donor-privacy commitments:
- We do not sell, rent, lease, trade, or otherwise share donor names, email addresses, postal addresses, or contact information with any third party for commercial purposes.
- We do not share donor lists with other nonprofits or organizations without explicit donor consent.
- Donations to Living UNDONE are processed by PayPal on behalf of From The Heart Productions (our 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor). PayPal's privacy policy and processing fees apply to transactions made there. We do not have access to your payment card data.
- We retain donor records only as long as required by IRS rules (generally seven years) and applicable state charitable-solicitation laws.
- Donor names and gift amounts may be listed on our website or in printed materials as recognition unless you request otherwise. To opt out of public recognition, email [email protected].
- You may request deletion of any non-IRS-required donor record by emailing [email protected]. We will confirm in writing within 30 days.
For questions about a specific donation, the fiscal sponsor From The Heart Productions may be contacted at fromtheheartproductions.com.
California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), grants you additional rights regarding your personal information.
We do not sell or share your personal information for monetary or other valuable consideration, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
You have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, or sell (we don't sell or share it).
- Delete personal information we hold about you, subject to certain exceptions.
- Correct inaccurate personal information we hold about you.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information (not applicable — we don't do this).
- Non-discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
To exercise your CCPA/CPRA rights, email [email protected] with the subject line "California Privacy Request." We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.
EU / UK residents (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Union or United Kingdom, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR may apply to our processing of your personal data. This section provides the information required by GDPR Article 13.
Data controller: The Rewired Collective, United States of America. Contact: [email protected]. Postal address pending confirmation.
We do not specifically target EU or UK residents with this website, and we have no office or establishment in the EU/UK. We do not have a designated EU representative under GDPR Article 27 because our data processing is occasional, does not involve large-scale processing of special category data, and is unlikely to result in a high risk to individuals.
Lawful basis for processing:
- Newsletter signups: Explicit consent (Article 6(1)(a)). You may withdraw consent at any time by emailing us.
- Server logs: Legitimate interest in security and operations (Article 6(1)(f)), retained for a maximum of 30 days.
- Inquiry/contact forms: Legitimate interest in responding to your request (Article 6(1)(f)).
Data retention: Newsletter subscriber data is retained until you unsubscribe. Inquiry-form data is retained for as long as necessary to fulfill the inquiry and any follow-up, typically no more than two years. Server logs are retained for 30 days.
Your GDPR rights: access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, portability, and objection. To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in the EU member state or UK where you reside.
Accessibility statement
Plain-English summary
We've designed and built this site to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards. If you encounter a barrier, tell us — we'll fix it.
What we do
- Keyboard-first: every interactive element is reachable and operable via keyboard, including a "Skip to main content" link on each page
- Screen-reader friendly: proper heading hierarchy, descriptive alt text on every content image, ARIA labels on icon-only buttons, semantic landmarks (nav, main, footer)
- Reduced motion: autoplay videos and animations are disabled when your system has
prefers-reduced-motionset - Contrast: body text meets WCAG AA (4.5:1) against background; navy and gold accent colors hit 7:1 (AAA) on cream
- Resizing: the site reflows cleanly when you zoom up to 200% or use system text-size adjustments
- Color independence: no information is conveyed by color alone
- Focus visibility: a 3-pixel gold focus ring appears when you tab to any interactive element
What we know we could do better
- The hero background video has no audio track and decorative function only — but we have not yet added a "pause" control. We rely on
prefers-reduced-motionto suppress autoplay; in a future revision we'll add a manual toggle. - Some embedded JSON-LD structured data is rendered client-side; for users with JavaScript disabled, all human-readable content is still present in the static HTML.
- We have not yet had the site audited by a certified accessibility consultant. We plan to do so in 2026.
Report a barrier
If you encounter content or functionality that isn't accessible, please tell us. Email [email protected] with:
- The page URL
- What you were trying to do
- What barrier you encountered
- Your assistive technology (screen reader, keyboard-only, switch device, etc.)
We aim to respond within 5 business days and to fix issues within 30 days where technically possible.
